Evangelist. Speaker. Recording Artist. Songwriter. Record Producer. Radio, Podcast Host & Entrepreneur.

American recording artist and multi-award winning singer, songwriter, record producer, and entrepreneur Richard Hollis has achieved global success as an independent artist with over 2.3 million total streams across over 50 countries to date. The Texas Gospel Announcers Guild 's Best New Artist Award Recipient has performed for Congresswoman Shelia Jackson-Lee and State Representatives Alma A. Allen and Jarvis Johnson solidifying him as an inspirational and millennial "soulful narrator".

Born in Texas, Richard first discovered his love for music while playing drums at the age of 5 in his dad's pentecostal church. He later fell in love with singing and songwriting and began performing in plays, talent shows, clubs and area concerts providing opening support for headlining artists like Dave Hollister, H-Town, Mya and Dru Hill. While on that journey he was awarded the opportunities to audition for label executives, A&R's and music producers such as Jheryl Busby, Rushion McDonald, Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, Jay Z, and Damon Dash. In 1999 he and his group left Houston for New York seeking a record deal and on a cold hotel floor in Manhattan is where God began to deal with his heart.

After returning to Houston, accepting Christ and working along side his father at True Light Church for several years Hollis was ordained in the summer of 2003. He released his first indie project, Brand New Start and received the 2008 Best New Artist Award from The Texas Gospel Announcers Guild. In 2011 his single "You Will Never Find" was voted Best New Indie Single and won a lead spot on the 2012 Oasis Inspirational Radio Sampler CD. Richard has been blessed to share the stage with r&b crooner Howard Hewitt, Stellar Award nominee Chester D.T. Baldwin and traditional gospel recording group Endurance. He has provided opening support for contemporary gospel recording artists Zacardi Cortez, Kim Burrell, Gary Mayes & Nu Era, James Fortune & FIYA and GMA’s Dove Award nominee Brian Courtney Wilson.

In 2014 Richard released his debut EP 'Brighter Days' which has been nominated for several awards from numerous independent award associations. His single 'It's A New Day' was voted 2016 Song of the Year' by the Independent Artist Christian Music Association. He has also been voted as a finalist for the prestigious People's Choice Award by the 2016 Gospel Image Awards. Most recently the EP has received multiple nominations from the Rhythm of Gospel Awards, IGARA Radio Alliance Awards, Voices of Gospel Awards, Blue MIC Awards and the Kingdom Image Awards for 2017.

Hollis' Brighter Days EP and singles have totaled 1.7 million streams on major streaming platforms to date. Because of his service in the community and his efforts working with inner city youth, Hollis was awarded the 2016 Impact Artist Award by The New Artist Profile Awards in Augusta, Georgia.

In 2017 he took some time away from music to focus on family and other life goals he wanted to pursue. Since then he has been studying the word of God and serving at Movement Church in Houston, Texas under the direction of lead pastors Dre and Shawn Burgs. In 2018 he accepted a leadership position over digital communications and is now serving as online pastor for's online campus.

He is also  a certified life coach and is currently enrolled at Houston Baptist University studying for a BA in Psychology. This May he will launched a weekly devotional podcast titled The Motivational Minute where he encourages his viewers in the gospel and the simplicity of the word of God.

Hollis' next music project and first devotional book is set for a release date near the fall of 2020.
